2.1 Hardware

As of this writting Sept 2009, the cost for the implementation of an openEyA unit is less than 650 Euros, including

  • - portable PC with Ubuntu Linux O.S. (e.g., low-cost NetBook 32 bits as in Fig.1)
  • - Digital camera with remote control features (e.g., Canon PowerShot SX100IS).
  • - AC power adapter (e.g, Canon ACK-800 AC).
  • - USB microphone (omni-directional).
  • -   optional: webcam (if external with Linux UVC Driver) and small tripod.

2.2 Software

The openEyA software can be downloaded, in the form of a simple 'openeya-installer' or a debian package 'openeya_x.x.x-i686.deb', under the License below from the website:

Prior to downloading you will be asked to fulfill a simple form for statistical purposes.

As of this writing Sept 2009, openEyA runs under Linux O.S. Ubuntu 9.04 (see section Install)
